Dear friends and partners,
I have exciting news this beautiful day. Tabitha Canada is doing a Virtual Mission for Tabitha Cambodia starting July1 for the savings/partnership program. I would like to share the story of one of our families.
Nong Sokha and his wife Doung Srey, live in Svay Reing province. Nong says that he did not understand savings or why he should give money for Tabitha to save. He says it took him three months before he understood the importance of savings. Nong told us, “Our lives started to change. We had big dreams, he said, dreams we thought would never happen.
Our biggest dream was to have a warm, safe house to live in. Tabitha helped to make that dream come true. It is such a blessing to have as we no longer get wet when it rains and all our belongings no longer get spoiled under the rain drops.”
Nong shared that they had dreams to have cows, chickens and to raise fish. Impossible dreams but over the past two years the family was able to save enough to buy two cows, chickens, raise fish and buy a water pump to irrigate his fields. “The income we got from selling chickens and fish supports our daily food, medical, other events and some of our saving we keep for our two daughters go to school,” Nong shared. “We are blessed to have all these things. We no longer worry about the rainy season. It is so amazing and our dreams still continue. So much change in just two years despite the Covid pandemic. We are so thankful”.
There are so many families who need our help. We can’t do this without your help. I ask that each of you consider joining the Virtual Mission from Singapore to Phnom Penh Cambodia.
