November 2021

Dear friends and partners,

This is the time of year in North America when we celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a time to remember the blessings and joys of the past year with family and friends.  Within our Tabitha Cambodia family it is also time to remember our blessings of the past year.

In this year of the Covid pandemic we are so very thankful that we have been able to continue our work despite the many obstacles that were present in our daily lives. We are extremely thankful that all of our staff and their families were fully vaccinated against the ravages of this disease. 5 of our staff and their family members were infected by the virus but none suffered any debilitating effects or were required to be hospitalized. All have fully recovered. How very thankful we are that the vaccine was available and prevented any serious illnesses from developing.

For our families in savings program this year has been a blessing as they were able to not only feed themselves but feed their extended families. For Nget Phorn, she and her husband and four children were able to raise pigs, extend their family home, run a small shop, make wine and grow three rice crops. It was enough to be able to feed themselves and to feed an additional 13 other relatives during this difficult year. For them savings was about having the means to be able to survive and thrive. What a blessing that is.

For Choun Poy and his family of 8. Choun is so very thankful that he was able to save and have the money for medicines for one of his children who became very ill. She survived her illness because they had money saved and started a number of ventures that allowed them all to survive. In addition to growing rice three times this past year because of water and a ground tiller, they were able to raise fish in their pond, they were able to raise a number of cows. His thankfulness is touching to see as he thanks us and His God for the mercies during this pandemic year.

I am so very thankful for each of our foundations and our donors. Without your support, none of this would have been possible. Instead, we have too many blessings to count. You gave us partnerships so we could stand with these families (USD $35.), you gave us water through wells and ponds, (USD 250.); you gave us houses for people who were left homeless and bereft during this Covid year (USD 1700); you gave us schools so that our children can study for a better life (USD 57,000).

I am thankful that our God has stood with us through each of you. It is so very good. Happy Thanksgiving!

 Janne
