December 2021

Dear friends and partners,

In this festive month of December, all of us from Tabitha Cambodia want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years. The very best news is that I will be returning to Cambodia on December 27, barring all Covid issues. In this season we would like to offer you a small list of our Christmas desires.

GIFTS THAT KEEP ON GIVING

Looking for a special gift this holiday season?

Tabitha Cambodia offers a series of gifts that will please your loved one, as well as actually changing the lives of struggling Cambodians for the better.  These carefully selected choices maximize the value of your dollar, because everyone benefits. Please help change lives this holiday season with a gift that keeps on giving.

SAVINGS PROGRAM: The Savings program is the cornerstone of Tabitha’s work.

It encourages families to save their money in order to break the cycle of poverty.  It empowers them to dream of a better future.

It costs $35 USD per family per year for the savings program.

FIELD WELLS: Field wells supply water that help two families sustain their crops all year long.

By giving the gift of a field well, you help guarantee year-round successful harvests stabilizing a family's income. A well costs $250 USD.

SCHOOLS: Schools are desperately needed in rural areas that Tabitha works in. By contributing to a new school, you contribute to education and a better future for young Cambodians.

The need for schools is urgent: less than 40% of the children receive any primary education and less than 14% complete a primary education. The schools in rural Cambodia are often makeshift thatch buildings that cannot accommodate all the children who would like to attend. This gift would give all children a chance to rightfully receive an education in a proper environment. The cost of a school is $57,000 USD.

 - HOUSEBUILDING: Tabitha continues to build sturdy, weatherproof homes for those families in dire need.

The volunteer house builders are unable to come because of the pandemic yet we have many families in need of secure and dry shelter. Our staff and local contractors continue to build homes for our families in need. The cost of a home is $1700 USD

I AM Who I AM:

This book is about how I started Tabitha Cambodia, our journey together as staff and our families we work with. It includes how the Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital was built.

The book is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Indigo Chapters, Author House Publishers. eBooks available through Amazon Kindle and Apple iBook’s

I am so thankful to my God for each of you who have stood with us this past difficult year; who have continued to believe in Cambodia and its people; who endlessly encourage myself and Tabitha staff. It is what Christmas is all about. How good is that!
